RALEIGH -- Summer travel is in full swing and many people already have their family vacations planned out. With America's dependence on Iraqi oil, the crisis occurring in Iraq could effect gas prices throughout the nation. However, Triple A Carolinas spokesman Tom Crosby tells us that the rise in gas prices should not be large enough to cause you to rethink your travel plans.

Crosby said, "If OPEC output is curtailed because of Iraq, that means that it will have an effect on world supply. And we'll see prices go up probably 5 to 10 cents."

Crosby says the amount that gas prices will rise is dependent on a number of factors that remain unknown such as how much Iraqi oil will be curtailed.
