RALEIGH-- This year 2015 is the International Year of Soil. And to go along with that the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences has a special exhibit called Dig it! on display.

Senior Exhibit Developer Wendy Lovelady says while this was originally a Smithsonian exhibit, regional additions about how we use soil to make fabrics and building materials that we use everyday have been added.

"The biggest addition though to the exhibit that we did was about North Carolina agriculture. We have one of the most diverse states in terms of soil all those different types of soil that we have in our state means that we can grow all different types of products," she says.

Lovelady told SFNTODAY.com that with information presented through new eyes even soil professionals can learn a little information.

The exhibit will be in downtown Raleigh through August 16th.
