Parents Charged with Aiding Underage Drinking Found Not Guilty |

RALEIGH -- The two Raleigh parents accused of aiding underage guests to drink at a 2014 wedding reception shortly before a teen died in a crash learned their fate shortly before 12pm Friday.
The court clerk read the verdict for Both Dr. Charles Matthews and Kimberly Matthews shortly after the jury resumed their deliberations Friday morning.
"We the jury return as our unanimous verdicts that the defendants in count one is not guilty, count two not guilty, count three not guilty and count four not guilty."
Judge Osmond Smith excused the couple and then delivered a deferred verdict of jail time in lieu of probation to the 19 year old Thomas Matthews, who prior to the wedding last summer bought a bottle of Jack Daniels at an ABC store in Cameron Village without being ID'd ... 18 year old Jonathan Gregory Taylor -- the son of a North Carolina Highway Patrolman -- died after the leaving the wedding, on June 28, 2014, his car slammed into a tree on Hunting Ridge Road, investigators said the teen had been drinking.
