CHARLOTTE - There will be no retrial for Charlotte Mecklenberg police officer Randall Kerrick, whose voluntary manslaughter trial in the fatal shooting of an unarmed man ended with a mistrial.
Attorney General Roy Cooper's officer issued a statement Friday explaining it's decision and later met with the media
"We have to accept that and go on and try to do the best we can to find solutions to problems out there and to improve law enforcement and improve training."
A portion of the statement issued by Cooper's office said " In consideration of the jurors' comments, the evidence available to the State, and our background in criminal trials, it is our prosecutors' unanimous belief a retrial will not yield a different result,"
