RALEIGH -- BRAKES (Be Responsible and Keep Everyone Safe) is a program that was founded in 2008 to promote safe driving by teens through education of the young drivers and their parents.

A partnership has been announced between BRAKES and the NC Highway Patrol. First Sergeant Jeff Gordon says this program adds on to normal training for teenage drivers,

"Builds on to what they learned in Driver's Ed, but takes it another step forward to where they can get some of those skills in confidence when they get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle."
