RALEIGH -- A modest boost given to Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in 2009 has expired. The impact will ripple through those that rely on the assistance to provide food for their families. Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina spokesperson Jennifer Caslin says the impact will be felt across the state.

Caslin added, "We anticipate it's probably going to be a pretty great impact. In our 34 county service area, there are about 276,000 active [SNAP] cases. And in those cases 565,000 individuals are covered...and all have the potential to be impacted."
