DURHAM -- The campus at North Carolina Central University was under lockdown early Thursday afternoon with a reported gunman on campus. Campus Police Chief Timothy Bellamy says a gun was fired.

According to Bellamy, "No one has been shot. The campus was placed on lockdown because of the concern that someone may have been shot. We have confirmed that a weapon was discharged, at an individual. That individual is safe, sound, and secure."

Warrants have been issued for the arrest of Crandall Ingram, the alleged shooter. He is reportedly driving a cream-colored 4-door Audi. Ingram is a former student at NC Central, who already was wanted on trespassing charges.
