RALEIGH -- North Carolinians are stocking up and preparing for another haymaker from old man winter; this time around the storm is packing more ice for the Tar Heel state. Governor Pat McCrory has declared a state of emergency and signed an executive order to cut through red tape for emergency vehicles. The governor said this storm presents issues because different portions of the state will receive different forms of precipitation.

According to Governor McCrory, "Each part of the state may have different timings. Some may have more rain. Some may have more ice. Some may have more snow. And each of those require different strategies on how to deal with them."

A winter storm warning will go into effect for the majority of the state at 9 o'clock Wednesday morning.
