RALEIGH --Amanda Hayes has been found guilty of second-degree murder in Wake County Court. Hayes is accused of helping her husband, Grant Hayes, kill and dismember his ex-girlfriend, Laura Ackerson in July of 2011.

Amanda maintained she knew nothing about Ackerson's death until Grant told her, while they were in Texas. That complicated the case, and Wake County Superior Court Judge Donald Stephens issued a thank you to the 12 jurors.

Amanda has been sentenced to 13-to-16-and-a-half years in prison on the charges. Grant Hayes was convicted in the murder last year. He's serving a life sentence.
