RALEIGH -- Governor Pat McCrory is seeking a federal disaster declaration for four eastern North Carolina counties that suffered damage from tornadoes and severe storms. McCrory said he's seeking the declaration for Beaufort, Chowan, Pasquotank and Perquimans to help them recover from damage the storms caused April 25.

Autumn Mihm  with the American Red Cross says they are still assisting those in need.

"The morning after the Tornadoes hit I was in Beaufort County which was one of the counties that had most of the damage. [There was] probably near 100 homes or more which had sustained some damage."

The Red Cross is assembling supplies to be distributed to those in the hard hit counties.
