RALEIGH -- North Carolina's Senior Senator is keeping a close watch on the White House and its approach to the Islamic terrorist group ISIS, also known as ISIL.

Richard Burr says that he is not sure President Obama would need Congressional approval for air strikes over Syria in an effort to disrupt the terrorist group.

"I think it's his intent if they chose to do dedicated strikes in Syria that he would come to the Congress and ask for the authority to do it."

The President said he is considering a range of options with military leaders.
