RALEIGH -- The 10-day early-voting period began Thursday, in all 100 counties, with more than 360 early-voting sites.

Anita Earls, Executive Director of the Southern Coalition for Social Justice, says even though early voting started Thursday, "It doesn't mean that it's at every location at the same time. My caution would be to check before you go, to make sure that the place - where you may have early-voted in the past - is still open and to make sure you have the right times."

Early voting runs through mid-day November 1st. There is no same-day registration, and photo ID is not required to cast a ballot this election cycle.
