CHAPEL HILL - UNC Chapel Hill announced Friday that it has received a "notice of allegations" from the NCAA in the investigation of academic irregularities and possible bylaw infractions involving student athletes.

"It actually triggers a 90 day window where if UNC wants to challenge anything in there, if any of the individual people named in this notice of allegations want to challenge something in there, they have a 90 day window to file their official response."

In a statement Chancellor Carol Folt and Athletics Director Bubba Cunningham said "The University will publicly release the NCAA's notice as soon as possible.
