Rescue Volunteer Faces Sex Charges

LELAND, NC — A Leland Fire and Rescue employee is now being held in the Brunswick County Jail under a $1 million bond charged with with several sexual offenses involving a minor.

Multiple reports state that 49 year old Brian David Saltsgaver of Leland, is charged with indecent liberties, nine counts of felony dissemination of obscenity and four counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

The warrants show he convinced several female victims between the ages of 14 and 15 to send pictures and videos using the Kik Messenger app of themselves engaging in a sexual activity.

Saltsgaver is also accused of sending lewd pictures and videos of himself using the app.

Charges include: 9 counts of felony disseminate obscenity, 4 counts of felony first degree sexual exploitation of a minor in addition Felony indecent liberties.

A Brunswick County Sheriff’s spokesperson says Saltsgaver is an employee with Leland Fire and Rescue.
