RALEIGH -- Temperatures crept above freezing Thursday for the first time since a winter storm has swept across the Tar Heel State. Thursday Governor Pat McCrory spoke about the changing conditions and had a point of emphasis - now is not the time to lose focus.

According to Governor McCrory, "Major message to you and to the citizens of North Carolina during these remaining hours of these conditions is, now is not the time to be stupid."

The governor praised many departments across the state for the prompt response to keep travelers safe.
